Louisa J. Curtis was born in England and moved to New York in 1982. She has been working in the photography industry for many years, and formed her own company Chatterbox Enterprises in 2005. Aside from her consulting services, Louisa creates, produces and writes her very popular monthly newsletter, the Chatterbulletin, in which she features all different types of photography, and much, much more.

In addition to her own newsletters, Louisa has written numerous articles for PDN’s (Photo District News) "Features" section on PhotoServe, Agency Access' Blog, The Lab, as well as ASPP's (American Society of Picture Professionals) magazine The Picture Professional.

She has been a long-time supporter of ASMP (American Society of Media Photographers) and APA (American Photographic Artists), and has presented many programs for both organizations, as well as Adorama and Photo Plus Expo.

Louisa has reviewed portfolios for many, many years and always enjoys seeing new work. She believes she can help any photographer, in pretty much any genre, at any stage of their career - help them make sense of their work, see where their strengths are, and where best to direct them.

“Louisa’s words always help my process of developing a project or just giving me direction or motivation, even if it has nothing to do with the images I’ve shown her. Unlike so many people who view my work, Louisa seems to understand where I’m coming from. I think it’s because she really cares. I always go to see Louisa when I’m feeling lost. Sitting in front of her, I could finally hear myself think again.”
Paul B. Goode, New York, NY

“I have been working with Louisa for 4 years now, and every time I work with her, my investment pays off almost immediately! Louisa knows the photo industry inside and out. She is articulate, creative and a gifted photo editor. She helps you get down to the core of your work and helps you formulate your vision and create a cohesive portfolio. After one session with her, my book took on a brand new life. Working with her was one of the best things I've done for myself, and my business.”
Michelle Kawka, New York, NY - Vice-President, ASMP NY Chapter

“Louisa gets what it means to be a photographer and the ups and downs of developing your career. She listened to my ramblings about where I wanted to go, did her homework on me and then showed me the way forward. I now have complete confidence in my portfolio, a clear direction and the momentum to follow through on the advice. Louisa has incredible industry knowledge, is refreshingly honest and really, really cares. It is a delight to have her on my team and I can’t recommend her highly enough.”
